Getting Started: The FurLuxe

Same mission. New model. Let's make pets sparkle.

Welcome to the FurLuxe by Prima — your sleek, efficient pet-washing companion designed for the modern groomer, at home or in the shop. Built with the same trusted pressure and cone-spray system Prima is known for, the FurLuxe features a fresh new interface, streamlined shampoo control, and a whisper of retro-futurist flair. (Think of it as the R2-D2 of dog washing — loyal, reliable, and surprisingly intuitive.)

What's in the Box

Your standard-issue grooming unit includes:

  • The FurLuxe main unit (fully assembled, no droid repair skills needed)

  • High-flex fan cone nozzle (oxygenates water for deep cleaning)

  • Flexible wash hose with application wand

  • 16oz SudCell (shampoo bottle with hookup line)

  • Faucet Aerator to hose adapter kit

  • Water hookup line (can be connected to sink adapter or PrimaPod)

  • Power cord

  • Window Cling

  • Quick Start Guide (this is it!)

Step One: Get Connected

Steps for getting connected

  • Connect Water Supply line to H2O Port and Water Supply

  • Connect Sprayer line to WAND Port

  • Connect SudCell line to MIX Port and SudCell Cap

  • Connect power cable to rear of machine and plug into GFCI Outlet

Step Two: Lock in your Shampoo

The FurLuxe bathing system dilutes shampoo to the Prima Ratio you're familiar with—based on a 16:1 dilution baseline. If you're using a higher-dilution shampoo (like 32:1 or 64:1), you’ll need to pre-dilute it in the SudCell to match the 16:1 baseline for proper performance.

For example:

  • A 32:1 shampoo should be mixed as half water, half shampoo in the SudCell.

  • A 64:1 shampoo would be three parts water to one part shampoo.

Using shampoos with dilution ratios lower than 16:1 is not recommended, but can be done in some cases. If you need to use a lower-dilution shampoo, please contact us first to ensure it won’t impact performance or clog your system.

How much shampoo to use

From the following table, find the dilution ratio stated on your shampoo bottle. Then use the size of the SudCell to measure the correct amount of shampoo, and top off with water to achieve the proper mix.

Step Three: Optimal Prime Time

Before you begin bathing, you’ll need to prime both the water line and the shampoo (Mix) line.

Prime the Water Line

  1. Switch on the power to activate the system.

  2. Press the trigger on the wand to let air purge from the lines and allow water to fill the system.

  3. It helps to loosen the nozzle slightly—this creates more of a stream than a spray, which assists with priming.

  4. Once the machine is spraying steadily, release the trigger. The machine should shut off automatically after a moment.

Prime the Mix Line

  1. Turn on Apply Mode.

  2. Begin spraying again, keeping the nozzle slightly loosened to allow for easier priming.

  3. Once you see shampoo begin to flow, you can tighten the nozzle to increase pressure and widen the spray cone.

  4. If the machine starts to "chug" or pulse, you may have tightened the nozzle too far. Simply loosen it slightly until the spray stabilizes.

You're now ready to start bathing with full water and shampoo flow!

Engage Bathing Mode

Time to get bathing

  • Start with machine set to Apply

  • Oxygenated flow lifts dirt and dander from the root of the coat outward.

  • Allow suds to sit for a few minutes

  • Switch off Apply to rinse, It will take a few seconds for the shampoo to purge from the lines.

Mission Accomplished: End of Day

To keep your FurLuxe running smoothly and looking its best, follow these quick steps at the end of each day:

Wipe Down the Exterior

Use a soft cloth or towel to wipe away any water, shampoo, or residue from the outside of the machine. This helps prevent buildup and keeps your FurLuxe clean and professional-looking.

Purge the Shampoo Line

  • Remove the SpaCell lid and intake tube from your shampoo container.

  • Place both into a bucket of clean, fresh water.

  • Switch to Mix Mode and run the system while spraying into your tub or sink.

  • Continue spraying for 15–30 seconds or until no shampoo is coming out and only clean water is flowing through.

This flushes out any remaining shampoo and keeps your lines clear and ready for next use.

Once finished, power down the system and store it in a clean, dry area. You're all set for the next round of clean pets
